“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to” – Brene Brown

Welcome and thank you for your interest in My Place for Peace. When we are faced with challenges, trauma, loss, and life changes, it can feel overwhelming and scary. For some, the hardest thing to do is ask for help when faced with hardship. As a licensed social worker with experience treating victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence, I recognize the importance of cultivating a therapeutic alliance with clients. To help foster a therapeutic relationship, I meet clients where they are in life and create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space for them. In session, I utilize a strength-based approach to assist clients with building their resiliency and acquire coping strategies to tackle life challenges. Other therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy tools, dialectical behavioral therapy tools, solution-focused approaches, safety planning, trauma psychoeducation, and domestic/sexual violence psychoeducation. A little about me: I graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and earned my Master’s degree in Social work from Rutgers University; with a clinical concentration in Violence Against Women in Children. My clinical experience includes working with adults with addiction, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, domestic/sexual violence, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Aside from being a clinician, I am a wife/cat mom to my two furbabies, Noel and Finn.

Books I love:
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk and anything Brene Brown. Brene Brown has several excellent books on vulnerability, shame, trust, courage, and leadership. I find her books to be relatable and helpful for living our best and most authentic lives.
