“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”- Shannon L. Alder

I want to be the first to say, “I admire your courage, and welcome To My Place For Peace!” As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Addiction Counselor, I know that a therapeutic relationship is an important component to the work that we do together. I create a safe and judgment free environment in which self-discovery may grow. My clients find me to be accessible, compassionate, and well-equipped to assist them on their therapeutic journey. I use a client-centered approach in my sessions, borrowing from different schools of therapy, based on my client’s needs. I help assist my clients fulfil a happy and healthy life, which is defined by them. A little about me: I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey and earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University; with a clinical concentration in Children and Families. I am also trained in Addiction Treatment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Full time I work locally as a School Social Worker and I am a wife/mom to two little ones, and our sweet dog named Reese. Nothing gives me more joy than my family and sharing my days with students, parents and educators.

Books I love:
My absolute favorite book that I recommend to many of my clients is The Art of Happiness, by the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler. This is a book that helped bring balance to my life regarding placement of valuables; possessions, time, relationships etc. It was this book that gave me a different lens to look through when making decisions, big and small. It’s a book that is full of yellow highlighter because there are so many messages throughout that were important for me to remember. I highly recommend this book!
I also absolutely love Kristin Hannah, particularly her book Winter Garden.
Currently I am reading All Learning is Social and Emotional, by Nancy Frey, Douglas Fisher and Dominique Smith
