Hi there! Welcome to My Place for Peace. My name is Alison Lenahan and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist. I know how challenging it can be to find a therapist you truly connect with. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and non-judgemental environment, while supporting you through your healing journey. I emphasize the importance of trust, empathy, and authenticity. I work from an eclectic approach that is tailored to your needs to help you grow into the best version of yourself. As a Counselor and Dance/Movement Therapist, I can implement somatic approaches into our work by exploring the mind-body connection through mindfulness techniques and self-expression.

With a passion for dance and helping individuals, I was so excited to collide my two passions together into one! I received my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Concentration with Dance/Movement Therapy from Rider University. Through my education and professional career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults providing counseling and dance/movement therapy. I have worked with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and more. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and more. I look forward to working with you on your journey to embracing who you are!
