Hello, and welcome to My Place for Peace! I’m so glad you’re here.

Before we proceed, let me note that navigating today’s world can be incredibly difficult, and no one should have to face these challenges alone. Reaching out for support is one of the bravest and most vital things we can do for ourselves. Now, let me introduce myself: I’m Tyler Polansky, a licensed associate counselor and nationally certified counselor. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Springfield College and my master’s from Montclair State University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and PTSD, as well as supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community. A significant part of my work has been focused on assisting clients of all ages in managing life’s transitions and developing effective coping strategies. I typically use an eclectic approach, integrating person- centered, solution-focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, along with elements of Positive Psychology.

I want you to know that what you are experiencing right now does not have to shape who you are. My goal with each client is to foster growth and clarity in their lives while recognizing that healing is not a linear process. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely express yourself without fear of judgment. As a therapist, my role is to advocate for you, guide you through challenges, and celebrate your wins. Just know that you hold the key to your own therapy journey, and my purpose is to nurture and encourage your progress. If you’re ready for a change and relief from the burden you’re carrying, I would consider it a privilege to hear your story and help you succeed on this therapeutic journey.

Here are some fun facts about me:

  • I have a Rottweiler mix named Nala—she’s my pride and joy.

  • My favorite animal is the manatee.

  • The beach is my happy place.

  • If I weren’t a therapist, my other dream job would be a food critic.

  • My favorite singer is Lady Gaga.

  • I used to be a tennis instructor.
