Hello! Welcome to My Place for Peace! I would like to start off by saying, thank you. Thank you for taking the time and taking the initiative to invest in yourself. It’s not always easy to take the first step, but this is it. So, for that I want to thank you.

Let me tell you a bit about myself:

My name is Jordan Haykin and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I am a Scarlet Knight alumni, which means I received my social work degree from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers

University, I completed both my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults. I aim to assist in the development and enhancement of the client’s communication skills, coping skills, social skills, as well as to assist in overcoming the challenges and obstacles client’s are faced with in their day-to-day lives. Helping clients overcome challenges and obstacles surrounding, but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma and grief/bereavement.

I can help you develop and maintain healthy and effective communication skills within your various interpersonal relationships, assist you with gaining the tools and the knowledge to help manage and cope with stressful situations and emotions that may appear for you.

My goal in treatment is to provide a safe space for all walks of life and always meet the client where they are at, in regards to their wellness and recovery journey. I am extremely passionate about providing my clients with an understanding, compassionate, non-judgmental space, where my clients can work towards creating and maintaining healthy relationships, not only with others, but also with themselves.

I am a firm believer that, “You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Steve Maraboli. I aspire to create an environment that allows everyone and anyone to be the best version of themselves, and to remember that you don’t have to get to that place alone.

Other bits of information about me:

I am a HUGE dog lover and coffee lover. I have a fur baby at home, named Luna. I absolutely believe that pets make incredible companions and are one of the best listeners.

In addition, I am also a huge advocate for incorporating physical movement to promote one’s mental and physical well-being. In the past, I worked as a ballroom dance instructor. I was fortunate enough to gain a significant understanding of the benefits that dance and physical movement have on the body and mind. Plus, who doesn’t love music and to dance like nobody’s watching?

I believe that everyone possesses various ways in which they like to express themselves, whether it be through art, music, sports, writing, dance, etc. My hopes are that we can work together to find ways that you enjoy expressing yourself. I aspire to help you to feel the most comfortable and confident in your everyday life!
